Series I’ve Started … & Not Finished

Anyways, today I’m sharing with you my deepest, darkest sins and secrets: the book series I’ve started but haven’t finished. I suck! I’m well aware.
Muse of Nightmares
I know, I know. I’m the actual worst there ever was. I read Strange the Dreamer for a readathon last summer, and really enjoyed it! But then I went to Denmark for study abroad and didn’t bring Muse with me, and now here we are, one year later, still unread. I think I need to reread Strange to fully appreciate the sequel, but ugh. What a task.
Wicked King & Queen of Nothing
I feel like this one kind of fell off the booktube hype after the last book in the series came out, but after joining the book blogging community, I’ve seen so many people fawning over this series! I read the first, and it was good! Clearly I didn’t love it enough to rush out and buy the next two when they came out, but lately I’ve been feeling the urge to. We’ll see!
Legendary & Finale
Heh. I feel like this one is a love it, hate it, or feel wholly indifferent towards it. I ammmmm…the latter? I liked Caraval *though that ending was a hot mess* and ordered the second two immediately after finishing. Should I read them soon? You tell me.
Archenemies & Supernova
God damn, I suck. I didn’t even love Renegades, so I don’t know why I bought the sequel. How about this: if I don’t have it read one year from now, I’ll unhaul it.
Our Dark Duet:
I’m realizing that three out of all these are books that I read during a reading rush last summer and never picked up the sequel. And I really liked This Savage Song! I have this book, so I’ll make it a goal to read it before the year ends. Those covers are also just gorgeous! (Though so are the new reprinted paperbacks, have you seen them??)
Thunderhead & The Toll
Full disclosure: I didn’t even finish Scythe. But in all fairness, I read that plane seen on a plane. I was kind of just too shooketh to read it after that. I know everyone loves this series, but it’s just…super dark? I dunno, the murder aspect of it was a lot. But I do want to try again and at least finish the first book before deciding whether to move on or not!
Well, I guess I just don’t read? I didn’t realize I had so many series that I’ve started and haven’t finished. And the worst part? I HAVE like, all of these books.
Well, I’m going to sign off and actually go be a reader. Here’s hoping that I finally get to these in the next few months, and if I don’t – make sure I unhaul!!!

Last year was my big ‘finish all series project’ and I actually did pretty well! No more unfinished series! (until I start a bunch of new ones & the cycle begins again 😑)

That’s such a good idea! Maybe I’ll hold off and dedicate 2021 as my “loose ends” year 😂 I totally feel ya, no matter how well we do, it never ends!! At the very least, I hope ya find some new favorite series! (:

Ah, Folklore is FANTASTIC!! Like wow. I’m not a number 1 fan. Like I listen to the albums when they come out but they never stay in my playlists you know? She’s an amazing person and I admire but yeah never been the biggest fan. But this album is a matserpiece and music at its finest.
I,,, need to read Strange The Dreamer eeepp. It’s been sitting unread for far too long. As well as start the Caraval series.
Um oh my gosh, I have been meaning to get to Our Dark Duet for AGES. I read book one ages ago and I just keep putting the sequel off.
Also I haven’t gotten to Supernova either yet. Which is very dumb and I don’t know why because Archenemies had me shook and THAT CLIFFHANGER was WOW. A lot.

Totally get that – some songs are so hit or miss and now I feel like her style has changed so much that it’s definitely not for everyone all the time!! These songs especially, I feel like people will overplay them and then burn out, but at least we can all hype them up now!!
Ugh I have to finish Archenemies! I’m glad to know there’s a cliffhanger at the end though, hopefully that will make me want to jump straight to the next book! I hope you get to it soon, and that you love Strange the Dreamer and Caraval when you read them!! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts 🥰

It is super worth it to finish TCP series!! I didn’t absolutely love the first two books, but I enjoyed them. The last book though?? Incredible! This is making me realize how many series I need to catch up on 😅

I have started listening to folklore and I am pleasantly surprised by it! I was never a huge Taylor Swift fan but this album feels different (in a good way!). I need to finish The Folk of the Air and the Arc of a Scythe series too! Unfortunately, I did not love Strange the Dreamer so I really don’t know if I should pick Muse of Nightmares. Oh my, I really need to read Renegades.

Aw I’m so happy that you like it! 🥰 I love the new sound, it’s so much more chill than most of her others (: Hmm yeah maybe don’t w/ Strange the Dreamer, I think Muse of Nightmares is too long to justify reading if you’re not 100% into it!! Hoping we both get to Folk of the Air and Scythe soon!! ❤️
